Them Are Fighting Words!

There is nothing I love more than poses or clothes, etc. that make me look like a bad ass! The new pose pack by Pffiou called Bunny Fight Poses are perfect for that!

So let me tell you a story about how my day went!

Fighting in the halls!
It all started in the halls with someone talking about my mamma! That's right my mamma!

The fight continues in the school library!
It quickly escalated into the library where we knocked some shelves and books down!

After the fight!
After the fight! You should see what she looks like! Where is the school nurse when you need her!

I built a huge ass home!

Well, I built a huge ass home! It is way too big for me to live in and I think I made it too big because I could not link up the back patio to it like I wanted but all in all I think it turned out pretty good for my first home. It is 66 prims and I put it on sale for $1 on SLExchange. I hope to try my hand at another smaller one to hopefully live in.

A Texture Review

I don't usually do reviews on my blog because I either don't have the time and I don't think I have enough of a readership to really influence anyone but I did want to share some wonderful texture pictures that I found on SLExchange.

I happened to stumble across these while I was just searching for various textures and I purchased a pack of the dark room series.

If you are looking for some textures to add to your photosphere or builds, I would encorage you to check out WildOrchid Tigerpaw's work on SLExchange. I don't think she has a store in world but you can get them on the exchange and for a very reasonable price too.

I can't show all of her pics on here so I am just going to put the link to her stuff on the site.

Enjoy!

Ali's and Sophia's Time Traveler Challenge

Here I am in the 1960s! I was born too late in the 60s to experience it but it is an era that I wish I had been a teen or in my 20s in. For some reason that whole decade just fascinates me. The music, the fashion, San Francisco, Woodstock, and just all of the new ideas that were developing then.

I even changed my photo editing to try and have a 1960s feel to it. As for my video, it was a tough choice but I picked the amazing Janis Joplin to sum everything up for me. This is one of my favorite songs from her.

Love Thursdays and I Am Breaking My Rule!

What do I love? Well here you go. I copied Sophia and put a collage together of what I love! I have all of my dogs..past and present and even a pic of my husband and I!

Yes, I am breaking one of my cardinal SL rules and I am sharing a pic of my RL self. I hope it doesn't ruin it for too many people to see what I look like behind my AV but as I get to know you all more and more through SL and your blogs I thought I would share.

I don't think too many people read this blog anyway! LOL!

Advice To New Players

I don’t know how many new players even read this blog. Heck, I think the only people who read this blog are those that are in the Ch’know group. However, if by chance a new player finds this blog, here is some advice to you as a wise old 1 yr and 5 month old player in SL…TAKE CLASSES!

That’s right…take as many classes as you can in SL. Take them on building, scripting, textures, inventory, etc. Most of them are free and they are all very, very helpful!

When I first started SL, all I did was shop, shop and shop. I had a job and I have lived in a few places but that gets boring really, really quick! I am just now starting to get into the creative part of SL and I am really enjoying it. If I had started a year ago, I just think about how much more ahead of the game I would be now and how many lindens I may have saved myself.

See, that lamp or end table that you paid $20L to $100L for? You could have made yourself in a free building class. That simple, simple thing you have been trying to build that has you tearing your RL hair out for a day in a ½ now…you could have learned the simple trick to take care of it by taking a free building class.

That simple script you bought on SLExchange to turn a light off or on with a touch….you get for free in the classes you take and you can learn how to make adjustments to it and it is full perm.

So the bottom line is: EDUCATE YOURSELF!

You can do this by:
• Going to www.lindenlabs.com
• Under Category, find events
• Then search by Education, pick a day and you will see a long list of things that may interest you.

Have fun and I hope to see you in a class soon!

I Need Help! Sorry, Being A Drama Queen!

As you know, I have been playing with making furniture with some full perm textures and sculpties that I bought and I often toy with the idea of having my own store. I have also been taking some classes, etc. While I ponder these deep thoughts, I have some questions that I was hoping you could answer for me as SL consumers or builders or business women/men:

Is it better to start small but in a high traffic area with possibly lower prims but higher rent? This would prevent me from putting out a lot except for maybe pictures of the furniture. I think it would be better to have it out but I’m not sure.

I am thinking of making the furniture modify, no copy, no transfer and then put a note card saying if they royally f-up the furniture, I would be more than happy to help them get it back in order. Or do you prefer copy in your furniture?

How important are a lot of animations in your furniture to you? Do you prefer the animation menus or is just not having pose balls but the animations in the furniture enough? I have one to three poses in the furniture. It depends on the piece.

I don’t expect to compete with The Loft or other big furniture designers. It is just something that I am enjoying doing. I’m not trying to get rich in SL or RL. I would just like to make enough to cover my rent and have some shopping money to buy things for myself and gadgets and textures to create new furniture.

It is funny how my RL thought patterns are the same that hold me back in SL. Thoughts like “It will be too hard and complicated; I’m not good enough; I don’t understand this or that; I’ll fail at it.

Anyway, enough Emo talk! Anything else that you can think of that you have as advice or that you wish you knew when you started out or that you learned the hard way, would be much appreciated!

Thanks so much!
