Why I Blog

There have been some posts asking "Why do you blog" or "What type of blogger are you?". Well, honestly I started blogging to be one of the cool kids! Shallow, I know, but true!

Actually, I always thought it would be cool to be a fashion blogger and get all that stuff for free. (Ok, so now you can add greedy to shallow as one of my character flaws.) However, I think there are more than enough fashion blogs out there and one more is really not needed.

So, I thought it would be a good way to get out some information about my favorite places and about the places that I worked at. At the time I worked in a 1920's Tea House that was always empty! I also worked at the Blue Fusion Jazz Club that for some reason was always dead on Tuesday nights. They were busy all the other nights of the week but on Tuesday nights it was like a ghost town there. Maybe, I needed to take a serious look at my hostessing skills....hmmmm??? (Ok, so now I am shallow, greedy and a sucky hostess).

However, probably the most important reason of all is that I just thought it would be fun. I was getting bored with SL and I thought it would be a good way to stay interested in it and meet some people. Guess what, I did meet some people that I really like hanging with even if just for a few minutes at a lucky chair, etc. Being part of Ali's group (I know you don't have to be a blogger) was one of the best things that happened to me in SL. I like going to a sale and running into someone there. I have run into Sai a few times at various sales. I really like it when we shout out letters in the chat or tell each other about sales and hunts and then we all mob the place!

Also, since I just love looking at my SL self and taking pics of my SL self (shallow, greedy, sucky hostessing skills and vain), I figured it would be a good place to post some pics. LOL!

So there you have it...why I blog! What type of blogger am I? I don't know??? I just do it...I don't think about it!

Random thought about GoGo

Have you ever noticed how GoGo of GoGolita.com or http://juicybomb.com/ looks the same no matter what skin she wears? I'm not saying that is a bad thing but somehow you can always tell it is her. Maybe it is her eyes which are very pretty and distinctive.

A Suggestion for the Hair Fair

I have a suggestion for future Hair Fairs and although it probably won't go over very well, it is just a thought and my two cents.

Instead of having it in one location with the WORST lag I have ever experienced in my SL life, why not just advertise which vendors are participating and then just have them set it up in their own shop. They can advertise in their own store which ones are for the Hair Fair with their 50% signs like the ones they have up in the Hair Fair.

When you advertise the vendors on the blogs, advertise the hairstyles at the same time.

I'm sure that would not be as exciting but I am not even sure if I am going to try and go back to purchase any of the hair that I bought demos for because of the lag. I just don't have the RL time anymore to spend a lot of time trying to move just a few steps in SL to buy hair.

Low Lag and Loving It!

I saw a challenge on the fashion feeds for your best low lag or low prim look and here is mine. This is some freebie metal skin that I picked up at one time that I like to use for events like the Hair Fair. I am naked and no one even cares! LOL!

Hey There!

Hey there! Well, once again I will not be able to go to a Hump Day party. My Wednesday evenings are just too busy now with the kiddo and trying to get some time in at the gym. I do enjoy reading about them the next day though and seeing the pics.

I saw Dutch Touch has a new skin! Woo hoo! I will have to check that out this weekend. I am not looking foward to possibly emptying out my SL bank account for this purchase though. I really hate how expensive skins are! I know, I know nothing about making skins or anything in SL except for my little bench and bird house but $1000+ for a skin is just sooooo much!

How Honest is Giving in SL?

I was reading about the Hair Fair and I started to think how reputable are the charities in SL. Now I am not knocking any of these charities and I'm not trying to start any drama...let me make that clear!

However, if I wanted to donate money for cancer or animals, I would think it would be safer to do so in RL rather than some donation box or special event in SL. Because really, does anyone check up on the individuals who plan these events to make sure that the money does go to the appropriate charity? Does Linden Labs? I doub't it but I could be wrong.

Does anyone know anything about this or have any experience with charities in SL and if they are reputable or held accountable by someone or not?
