Love Thursday--My Buddy!

My Love Thursday is our little Chihuahua mix Buddy. I found Buddy roaming our streets one morning and took him home. We tried to find his owners by hanging up signs and going door to door but no luck. Because I wanted his owners to have a chance to find him, I sadly took him to animal control since that would probably be one of the first place they would look for him.

Our animal control is required to hold animals for 72 hours to give owners a chance to find them. After 72 hours, they are put up for adoption. No one claimed him so I went back early on the morning of his adoption day and got him. Our best guess is that someone just thought that this was a nice neighborhood and dumped him off on the street corner.

Well, Buddy has been one of the best things that has ever happened to us. We have had several dogs before and have raised them from puppies until they passed away from old age but this little guy just holds a special place in our hearts! We take him on vacation with us whenever we can, he sleeps in our bed and we took him to obedience school, etc.....you get the picture.

Buddy has got a lot of personality packed away in that little body and he has got us wrapped around his little paw! When you see the pictures below, you will understand why! :-)

What Has Been Going On With Me and the Live Music Scene in SL

Wow! It has been a long time since I have been on here! Honestly, a month ago I thought that I would never blog again. Actually, I thought about leaving SL for good. As you can see, I got over all of that. I mean...I just couldn't disappoint the two readers that I have now..could I? LOL!

So, I have been through some changes in SL. One of the things that has changed is that I just don't get on as much. I still get on and I still have fun but I don't feel like my RL has to revolve around my SL and I don't get those "I haven't been on SL today!!" withdrawals like I used to! Whew! Balance has returned to my life!

When I log on now, one of the things I enjoy doing is checking out the live music scene. I have always loved Cylindrian Rutabaga and SRV4U Conacher and I plan on downloading some of Cylindrian's tunes from itunes soon. I joined the Live Music Enthusiasts group to keep updated on shows and artists but I had to leave it because there were so many notifications that my IMs kept getting capped

One of the new artists that I like to see alot is Madmax Huet. He is a blues guitarist that does his own stuff and it is amazing! If you check out his group Maximum Blues, you will see he has been playing electric blues guitar and blues harp with some blues jazz thrown in. He's been playing since he was 12 years old and performs live in London clubs and bars. He plays a regular Saturday gig at Not Too Hot http://slurl.com/secondlife/Not%20Too%20Hot/26/236/24 at 1 pm SLT. I took the picture of him below one night at one of his gigs. He looks rather stoic, don't you think?

Roller Girl!

I picked up some roller skates that I love from Pixel Mode this weekend. I couldn't take pics of me skating in them but I took some other shots that I wanted to share. They come with an AO and they are great for getting around in laggy places. You will barrel right through!

Now I just need to join a roller derby team!

Meeting SL Friends in RL

Hello there! Been a long time!

This post really isn't about meeting SL friends in RL. It is more about running across people in RL that make me think "That person reminds me of so and so in SL"

Don't know what I mean? Let me explain:

I work at a community college and I see students fairly often. There is a particular student that comes into our lunch room and I always think to myself "That is what I imagine Aisuru looking like in RL". I don't know Aisuru in RL but I do know that she has a passion for Asian culture, etc. and that her AV is Asian. So for some reason whenever I see this petite Asian student who dresses really cute I think of Aisuru. As a matter of fact, in my mind she is Aisuru. When I see her in the hall, I think "Oh there is Aisuru again" I don't know if Aisuru is Asian in RL...for all I know she could be a blonde?

There are other people that I will see in RL and I think to myself...I bet that is what Sai looks like or Alicia looks like. This is just based off of the bits and pieces that I know about their RL and what I know about them in SL.

Does anyone else do that or is it just me?

Blog Fail! I suck!

Well, I failed the challenge. I was doing good until the topic was left up to us and then I realized that I had nothing to say....so massive fail!

On another note, let me say that I am bored with SL. That's right...BORED! This is not going to be a dramatic post that I am leaving, blah, blah because I am not but there is really nothing that is getting me excited. Shopping..blah; building...blah; hair fair....maybe, if I could get in there.

Not only that after sitting at a computer for nine hours at work and then coming home and sitting at a computer in the evening is just too much! I need to start getting back into things in my RL like working out, reading and my other favorite sit on my ass activity...watch tv!

It is time that I spent more time with my RL pet than my SL ones and spend more time with my hubby even if it is just doing my other favorite sit on my ass activity...watch tv.

I am toying with the idea of starting a home and garden feed and putting another blog on there about home and garden stuff. I was thinking of asking builders to put their blogs on there and making it as big and massive as the fashion feed but we will see. I'm not really motivated to start that right now. It would be like anything else in SL to me. It starts out fun and challenging and then just turns into a chore.

Ok, enough of my whining and back to trying to get into the hair fair!

BBC Day 4 Topic

So who would I want to be in SL and why? Well, I am actually pretty happy being me in SL but if I were to pick someone, I guess it would be Gabrielle Sinatra.

Why her? You may ask. Well, I happen to think she is extremely talented! I think she does amazing photographs and does some awesome stuff in photoshop. I think it would be fun to do that type of creating in SL. I only wish I had a pinky's worth of her talent!

My Very Own Free Sim? For Me?

What would I do with my very own free sim that I could not make residential or commercial? Hmmm, lets see?? I have a heart for animals and in particular homeless animals and animals in shelters and the feral cat issue, etc. So I would probably make my sim into some type of educational informative island about this.

I would make it green and lush with mountains and get some pets from Zoobys and VKC and other places and just try to promote ways to help the animals and make it a better world for them.
